Great site. I served in the RAF 1970-1983, did time at Neatishead on the T85,
Benbec. on T88 & T89, some stuff on airfields. Finnished up at West Drayton
on the RDPS. Now carrying on the good work at Teesside Airport. |

I was very interested in your site especially seeing some familiar faces on
the entry photo. I was in the 219 Comms entry and joined the forever knocked
Aprentice band. I would be interested in a reunion if there was to be one. I
notice Martin Hodgetts mentioned as well, I would be interested in contacting
him as I havent seen him since I left Staxton Wold for Gatow, Berlin in 1979.
Great site, look forward to hearing from you. |

I worked on Type 85 (RAF Staxton Wold) '71-'80. Excellent article on Type 85.
4 Txs were used in normal operation, but 2 feed into dummy loads. 1 went into
even no. horns and the other into odd no. Superb piece of kit, if a little tempermental.
Interesting story - piece of 6 foot w/g burnt out 1 night. RAF North Luffenham
sent spare in a BL mini - open box to find a machete! Stock numbers were very
similar! |

Spent 20+ years (1949-1969)as radar maintenance technician in USAF ground radar.
I'll start scanning your website as well as Gene's (RADOMES, INC.) from now
on. Found your address in Gene's Guestbook, so had to key it in. Many thanks
for all the effort you're putting in to this site ... it shows. Most enjoyable
reading. P.S. Is there any locator service for retired RAF enlisted personnel?
Knew some fine RAF chaps while in Norway, and would enjoy re-establishing contact |

What an excellent website. The comments regarding the training at Locking are
right on the money, I consider myself lucy to have trained there, no other civilian
or service school comes close. RAF Locking DAF46 1981-83
